What is everyone playing? i know this sounds like a thread thats been done before, but... wOW. that is a pretty cool piece, very pretty. It sounds pretty challenging. I am working on Marcello's Sonata in G Major for double bass. I can't find any samples of it and I'm not good enough at it to record myself. :P

hehe kool yes its a challenge alright, but i am SLOWLY getting there, i can play the whole piece through now but just not with all the details

ummm- i can do vivaldi's winter... ummm the other movements of that bruch concerto lots of weird little pieces cos i used to be a suzuki kid.... have bought the Mendelssohn violin concerto in a hope that i will play it in the next five years..... oh yeah and im going to start playing a de beriot violin concerto soon. hehe apart from the big concertos ive been doing little thing like Bartok's romanian dances and that sort of thing

In an attempt to keep posting, I thought I would bring this up again. I am still working on the same solo (Marcello's Sonata in G Major for double bass) but I am also starting to work on the Bach cello suites on the bass. On the cello I am playing a piece called Anagelise (I think...). I hope that you guys have some new material to share.

mmm im still working on the Bruch concerto Preludium and Allegro by Kreisler Moto Perpetuo by Novacek will be starting: Partita in e by Bach!!!Romance by Dvorak Spanish Dance by de Falla Concerto no. 9 by De Beriot and something else....i think.... i think i will finally do an exam!! but i just havnt decided whether to prepare material for AMus or LMus yet!

wow... you are working on quite a bit of material. Do you have a private teacher that you work with?

yeah i have private lessons for the first few years i was in a group at primary skool tho

I think that I started with school but got a private teacher shortly after. I have had the same one for six years now.

Whoo... posting! haha! Just thought I would let you all know that I finally started on a new bass solo! I am so sick of the other one. I have started the Dragonetti concerto in A minor. It is one of those pieces that most bassists learn eventually. On cello I am working on Bach's Minuete No. 3. Its pretty easy, but my teacher doesn't want to start something new until after the recital. oh well.

Currently, my orchestra is playing Stravinsky's Danse Infernale. It's like one of the most common orchestra songs ever, but it's a really great piece. any of yous heard of it?
