Snapped/broken strings
Have any of youz ever experienced snapped and broken strings? I haven't ... well not yet LOL ... maybe i might one day! geez, imagine having a E string snapped on you! Argh, you'd have a red eye for months. And for the double basses, imagine having the extra low C string snap on your face ... now thats a SLAP!

it didnt snap while iw as lpayin but ma a string went outa tune, i made an attemp then i ...arghhh, stuffed it wall up, i thin k dey were crappy string, got new ones and good one..:) i snapped quitar strings though, scarry, rehearsal for a skool performance and playing ma solo, then ma B string snapped, i had to borrow the schools crapppy guitars

basses don't have a C string. EADG!

some do. many (the VAST majority) of basses these days have an extra C string (some have 4 - but the 4th string has a lever to change it to a C string). The main reason is coz in da orchestra, double basses must play an octave below the cello, and the Cello has a deep C string! You might wanna get a C string, if you ever wanna perform in an orchestra that is.

Ah yes, if you have the C-extension. That is a different story. I was talking about the standard bass. I do want to get a C string extension. But the bass I found cost aout 2,000 more dollars than one without. I go to see the orchestra a lot and I have only seen one bass with an extra string. I have to say that I was pretty amazed. :lol:

hmmm LoL. wow thats a big price for an extra sting!

yeah, it was probably a nicer instrument too! :D My violin friend and I were talking about the E violin string snpping in your face *OUCH!* The only string that ever snapped on me was a banjo string on my finger. It cgave me an ouchie! :)

imagine having the extra low C string snap on your face ... now thats a SLAP! Not when it happens! This happened when I was playing guitar! I was sooo nervous doing the talent show at my school.... no one knew I played guitar, or that I was even entering it! I was playing and everything was going so well.... when POP one of the stings popped and hit my RIGHT on the side of my face! It was painful, but I was so hott from embarrassment I didn't feel the pain, I just went right of stage, and welcomes the big huge red slash across my face -_-

Oh I feel so sorry for you! I've only snapped the C string on my cello because I was trying to tune it and was on the phone at the same time....bad idea!

I am so afraid to use the pegs on my cello. I fear the snapping string!

yeah, cello pegs are HUGE!!! my viola pegs are like VERY TIGHT, i can like NEVER turn them, but because its tight, the pitch never changes, and if it does slightly, i just use fine tuners ma violin has good pegs, just a tiny push and it turns, and i need good ears since i only have an e fine tuner

I don't like using the pegs... I always have a feeling that they'll snap in half!!!

ur scared the pegs will snap..?? wooden pegs (mine are box wood) are very strong! so it ebony, the plastic ones are shit as!
