E tube MY E TUBE IS LIKE BRAKING!!! (e tube, i dunno its technical name but its the tube around your e string, or sometimes 'a' string, it prevents your string from slicing the brigde)
and ma E string has cut half of ma e tube!! i loosed ma e string and removed the tube from the bridge, and plucked it, the sound was like....very free, when i put the tube back and plucked it, the sound was kinda locked, though when i bowed it, when i have the e tube i think it sounded better while when it had no tube sounded a lil crap, so i want the e tube, plus i dun want my e string half way in the middle of the bridge, so what im asking is
can you replace them without replacing the e string...?? i like ma strings and i dun want them replaced, but would it be a lil stupid if you go to a violin shop and go ' hi can i please get my e tube replaced'...

you mean the tube that wraps the string on the bridge? with them, just get paper! i had no tubes at the start, and my teacher saw my e string cutting the bridge. she loosend the string, and placed a small piece of folded paper. worked fine!
