Chin cellos sound awesome but I'd rather (like most poeple here) have the full sized cello.

iv heard of a few electric shin cellos (which is pretty much violin(maybe with the cello tuning(C G D A)) but with an lower octave effect on it. im not sure never seen an acoustic chin cello

I was talking about electric chin cellos besides it's not possible to have an acoustic chin cello. I don't know if I'm right but I'm guessing the the chin cello is just like an electric viola with an effect to make it sound an octave lower...I know there's an effect pedal for the electric violin that adds one or two octaves to whatever you're playing... So is there a website in which the electric chin cellos are on sale???

no its possible for the violin to have celo strings, i think the 7 string violin can reach lower notes then cello, so yeah, they jsut put deep strings on the violin, theres ur chin cello

I don't like the idea of chin-cellos... because it kind of ruins the 'cello tradition'. I like the cello the way it is.

yeah thats what i think... i mean the cello is individual y make it like a violin?

Of course I like the traditional cello better although it would come in handy if there were only violinists in a group and you need it a cello! I would never get one though...they're so UGLY! Well at least the ones i saw. I'm pretty sure there are awesome looking ones too...Instead of getting an electric chin cello I would just get an effect pedal for my violin to add the lower octave.

mmm yeah if i really wanted to play that lower octave thats what id do too... in a quartet it would stuff up the balance.. it would look funny
