A new year?
Who celebrated New Years this past December 31-January 1?

i went 2 da city and saw fireworks. and i saw a violin busker (as i said in a recent post).

cool, fireworks! I was asking because a lot of cultures don't celebrate the same new year.

isnt fireworks the normal celebration? dont you have fireworks on the new year? coz here in aus, there's a countdown and once we reach 1, the fireworks explode lol

well, maybe we do have fireworks. I don't ever go to see them. The only time I see fireworks is on the 4th of July (independece day). Last year my family went to Maine (like we do every year), but we went to an amusement park and at ten o'clock they shot off the fire works. It was pretty fun.

sure. Is there an Australian independence day? I really don't know anything about australia. Except that settlers tried to kill the aboriginies (or something like that).

no, there is no independence. however, there is an AUSTRALIA day, which pretty much has the same concept. oh, and theres really nothing much to learn about australia. think america with more beaches, deserts and desolate land and an outer-border urban area :)
